Support The Feconomy

SUPPORT THE FECONOMY. That’s the rallying cry from brand new podcast-come-brunch-club by Pip Jolley and Tara Guiness. The concept is genius. Every other week the fabulous duo host a breakfast where all the food and drink is supplied by talented female-led businesses. While the fizz flows, the conversation tackles the ins and outs of the female economy with the aim of putting money back into women’s pockets. The first episode of the podcast dropped earlier this month and brought with it a mouth-watering menu supplied by the likes of female farmer, Fidelity Wilson. Not only is the podcast a brilliant platform for women in the food and drink industry, the panel discussion brings together entrepreneurs from all different backgrounds to support women in business. To give you a taster from the inaugural brunch, the panelists discussed everything from funding inequalities to conscious consumption. Just as we’re becoming more aware of the environmental impact of what we buy, could we rectify the gender imbalance in business by being more aware of *who* we buy from? We think so. So like small business champion Holly Tucker says, vote with your money ladies! With just 1p in every £1 of venture funding being invested in female led start-ups, supporting the female economy has never been more important. From education to empathetic investment, the team at The Feconomy leave no stone unturned during the debate, sharing real experiences from female business owners in a bid to incite change. With a backdrop of Bloody Mary terrines and edible flowers, we can’t wait to tune into the next podcast for another dose of food porn and hard-hitting feminist chit chat.
