Networking events are awkward and stuffy

by Laura Bingham

Networking events are awkward and stuffy, thats what I had come to believe. I knew I had to go to them to broaden my network but id always need ‘to take a friend’, so I wasn’t that loner in the corner.

When I went to ‘Ladies-who-Launch’, I took a friend, so I wouldn’t be that loner! However after my experience at the last event, I would happily go to the next event alone!! Although my friend had such a good time too, I doubt I will be allowed.

There was such a light free energy in the room, the room itself was bright, light, unstuffy and non-pretentious, it was filled with phenomenal woman that were chatty and bubbly! And there was none of this ‘you need someone to introduce you’. It was a free-for-all chit chat with everyone.

Emma had thought about everything beautifully, the entire brunch had an air of serenity and fun! It is my go to networking event now.

Natural born adventurer, Laura Bingham, left home at 18 years of age to explore the earth and its kaleidoscope of cultures.

Laura traveled through the Greek Islands, Continental Europe, Africa, Asia and North/Central America before eventually landing in Mexico where she taught English and undertook challenging conservation work to protect the endangered Jaguar. Challenging herself even further Laura, and a crew of two men and a cat, sailed back home to England across the Atlantic in a 38ft Trimaran.
