#1 Killing Eve

With Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the helm, the BBC’s Killing Eve was one of this year’s biggest hits. Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh made a dynamic duo we just couldn’t resist loving, even during their darkest moments. Ruthless assisations, frothy pink prom dresses and droll one liners - all without a hint of over-sexualisation or female stereotyping - made this exceptional series your no.1 title of 2018.

#2 Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine

Gail Honeyman certainly captured readers hearts with her unique and moving debut novel, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. From shining a light on the the devastating impact of loneliness to her carefully crafted characters and mischievously funny writing, Honeyman has proven herself as a master storyteller. We definitely weren’t the only ones who wanted to give Eleanor a great big hug by the end.

#3 Everything I Know About Love

Dolly Alderton’s collection of life-affirming and laugh out loud anecdotes felt more like catching up with your best friend over a bottle of wine than a book. In an age of #couplegoals and impersonal Instagram updates, her rugged honesty and self-awareness made her memoirs a refreshing and relatable read. Setting the world to rights is no easy task, but Dolly manages it with her razor sharp writing and a healthy dollop of humour.
