THE BIG QUESTIONS

WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSIONAL TITLE?

Qualified Life Coach

WHAT DO YOU DO ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS?

I work with female clients to help them create positive change in their lives. We work together to overcome whatever may be holding them back, get clarity on what it actually is they want and achieve their goals with success. I am also now focusing on helping women in the world of work to overcome confidence, stress, anxiety and overwhelm issues to ensure that can uncover their true potential and be as successful as possible.

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO DO WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD AND WHAT CHANGED?

I wanted to be a dancer and singer, but then life got in the way! I was always very confident as a child and would always perform for people at the drop of a hat. Through high school, I developed a real love for Psychology and decided to study this at University. However, once I left university I felt the pressures of life and had to get a job to pay my bills and fell into the world of marketing. I was submerged into a career where I did well but I was never very happy and my confidence plummeted. I always thought I could never have the life I wanted and was sure I would just have to settle. That was until I reconnected with Psychology and found Life Coaching. I was amazed at the way it helped me to leave my current situation and do something I love for a living and I want to help other women do the same.

WHAT ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE?

BSc in Psychology 2:1 and I hold a life coaching qualification from Coach School which is accredited by the International Coach Federation.

WHAT’S THE BEST CAREER ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

If things aren’t working the way they should, figure out how to make them work the way they should. I heard this from an old boss and it spurred me on to become the person that was always calling for positive change and I used my Psychology knowledge to get the best out of people to ensure this change was always a success.

WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL AND WHY?

Although it sounds cheesy, it’s my mum! She was a single mum and had to work very hard when I was younger. She had to go back to work when I was just 3 months old! My mum is fiercely independent and would just do whatever she needed to make sure I was always ok. She is very protective and we are best friends and still to this day she wants to do everything for me…I have to remind her I am nearly 30!

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR CURRENT WORKING ENVIRONMENT?

I get to work from home with my two mini sausage dogs, Maggie and Monty, who I adore! I get to manage my own time, which after years of working in the Corporate world, is so refreshing!

WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT YOUR DAILY WORK ROUTINE IF YOU COULD?

I would probably like to see more people in person! I see my clients over video calls and am always on the phone but more in person interaction would always be nice.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF PROFESSIONALLY IN FIVE YEARS’ TIME?

I want to spread my message that no-one has to settle and by nurturing your mind you can achieve anything you want. I would like to build up my She-Force brand to include group programs and in person events. And I would like to become more known publicly to help spread my message to people that may not be exposed to it otherwise.

DO YOU FEEL YOU CAN BE THE SAME PERSON AT WORK AND IN PRIVATE?

I believe in being exactly who you truly are in all situations and playing to your strengths. We can all find solutions to issues and situations we are presented with in life and at work if we remain true to who we are, reflect on our thoughts and use our skills.

WHERE AND IN WHAT ROLES ARE WOMEN IN THE LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE AT YOUR COMPANY?

Well, I am the CEO and owner of my company. At the moment, it’s just me but I work with some amazing female freelancers to help me execute the vision I have!

DOES DIVERSITY MATTER TO YOU?

Yes, I think diversity is hugely important. The more diverse a place is, the more interesting and inspiring it becomes. Also with diversity brings different viewpoints and perspectives which we absolutely need to ensure a better world.

HOW GOOD IS YOUR WORK LIFE BALANCE?

As I work for myself this is something I struggle with as I just love working on my business. It doesn’t feel like work. But sometimes I do have to force myself to turn my phone off and close the laptop and practice what I preach to my clients. Time for me is important and I know I need to make more of it. I use me time as a reward for completing all my tasks for the day and I find that really helps to keep me motivated.

WHAT QUALITIES DOES BEING IN YOUR ROLE NECESSITATE?

I have to be organised! I have lots of different things going on and I have to make sure I give the right amount of time to each of them. I also have to be honest with my clients and challenge them where necessary, in order to get them moving forward.

I also think being driven and ambitious is important in my role as I want to take She-Force to the top and help as many people as I can!

ANY FINAL COMMENTS?

As well as helping my clients find a way towards a better life for themselves, I also want to educate people about the importance of the mind and how everything is in our control. I am passionate about instilling this concept in younger minds to create a more positive future for themselves, even if bad things happen or your circumstances are less than ideal. I think it’s so important for people to recoginse they have a choice to be, do or have anything they want.
