WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSIONAL TITLE?

WHAT DO YOU DO ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS?
I would definitely say that each day is different. Due to the nature of No Brainer Solutions, I’m lucky to work with a wide range of businesses from different industries. So day-to-day it could range from providing RSVP onsite management for a luxury wedding, to creating a social media schedule, shortlisting CV’s for a role or just general admin tasks.
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO DO WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD AND WHAT CHANGED?
When I was a child I loved performing so wanted to pursue a career in the Arts, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve tended to not love being in the spotlight so much. But having a business of my own is something that I always wanted, I just thought I would have one much later on in my life.
WHAT ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE?
I have a degree in English Literature.
WHAT’S THE BEST CAREER ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN?
“To just keep on pushing” – it’s really helped when you feel like you are just getting nowhere.
WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL AND WHY?
My mum. I don’t think I’ve met anyone with the resilience that she has. And no matter what she is going through she is always graceful and positive.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR CURRENT WORKING ENVIRONMENT?
The ability to make it what I want to be and the flexibility to change things that don’t work for me.
WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT YOUR DAILY WORK ROUTINE IF YOU COULD?
Try to get out more, whether that be going to meet a client or attend a networking event. But just making sure that I’m not always behind a computer screen all day.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF PROFESSIONALLY IN FIVE YEARS’ TIME?
To have honed my skills, acquired lots of knowledge and learnt from personal experiences and from my network to become a successful business woman. And be on the path to owning several businesses.
DO YOU FEEL YOU CAN BE THE SAME PERSON AT WORK AND IN PRIVATE?
Definitely. I think we are in an age where you no longer need to be a different person at work and at home. Having your own rules is becoming more accepted.
WHERE AND IN WHAT ROLES ARE WOMEN IN THE LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE AT YOUR COMPANY?
This doesn’t apply to me now, but I definitely want to build an environment where women are at the forefront.
DOES DIVERSITY MATTER TO YOU?
100%. And diversity of every kind. It’s so important for diversity to get to a point where the word doesn’t even have to be used anymore. There needs to be a culture where everyone is recognised for their talent exclusively and not for the badge that they wear.
HOW GOOD IS YOUR WORK LIFE BALANCE?
I would say it’s pretty good. I always like to make time for friends and family each week. It’s important to have some downtime.
WHAT QUALITIES DOES BEING IN YOUR ROLE NECESSITATE?
Organisation all the way.
ANY FINAL COMMENTS?
I love what this project represents, I think women supporting women is such a powerful thing. And having our own space to do this is great.
