THE BIG QUESTIONS
WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSIONAL TITLE?
Model/Actor/Motivational Speaker
WHAT DO YOU DO ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS?
I tend to go to castings during the day and love to spend quality time with my friends and family. I spend my spare time working on a character that I will be playing in a film and writing my self-help book.
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO DO WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD AND WHAT CHANGED?
I wanted to be a princess and when I realised that being a princess was unrealistic, I wanted to be a vet. What changed about that was that I did veterinary work experience and did not enjoy it as much as I had anticipated. I think that the best things in life come unplanned and whilst I never saw myself doing what I do now, I think that it was always my destiny to do this. In the future, I hope to be a clinical psychologist because I love tutoring psychology now and it ties well with the mentoring that I currently do through my foundation!
WHAT ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE?
I got three A’s at A level but have a place to study Psychology Bsc at university next year.
WHAT’S THE BEST CAREER ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN?
‘Success without fulfilment is the ultimate failure. If work is fun and something that fulfils you then it doesn’t feel like work.’
WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL AND WHY?
Tony Robbins. I have now participated and coached at 20 of his events and every single one teaches me something new. He has completely transformed my life, taught me how to help others and helped me realise what my purpose is. He was also the person who inspired me to become a motivational speaker.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR CURRENT WORKING ENVIRONMENT?
The people that I am surrounded with. I always say that who you spend time with is who you become, and the fact that I am surrounded by so many creative, inspirational and ambitious people definitely rubs off on me.
WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT YOUR DAILY WORK ROUTINE IF YOU COULD?
Allow myself more time to spend with my family.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF PROFESSIONALLY IN FIVE YEARS’ TIME?
In five years time, I hope to be on my study year abroad in America, doing psychology! I plan to make a lasting impact on as wide a scale as I can and to have as much experience modelling and acting as possible. The real answer is ‘who knows’, because I am open to going down any of my career paths right now.
DO YOU FEEL YOU CAN BE THE SAME PERSON AT WORK AND IN PRIVATE?
Absolutely. If I can’t be myself at work then it isn’t a job that I should be doing.
WHERE AND IN WHAT ROLES ARE WOMEN IN THE LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE AT YOUR COMPANY?
I refer to it as a foundation more than a company, but as a woman myself I can say that I am in every leadership position. I control the marketing, the correspondence and the workshop schedules.
DOES DIVERSITY MATTER TO YOU?
Of course! I believe in equal rights and diversity in the workplace is one of the places in which that needs to start.
HOW GOOD IS YOUR WORK LIFE BALANCE?
I would say it’s pretty good. I make sure to ‘work hard, play hard’ in order to avoid burning out and overworking myself.
WHAT QUALITIES DOES BEING IN YOUR ROLE NECESSITATE?
Confidence, drive, proactivity, self-love and passion.
ANY FINAL COMMENTS?
I would just like to say to everyone that is reading this that if you are thinking about starting your own company/foundation or going for a job, do it. No matter how old you are, go for it. I was thirteen years old when I started my foundation because I didn’t want to wait. You will never be readier than you are right now. Saying that you’re not ready is an excuse to stay within your comfort zone. You can do it!
